The Wuhan taxi rate was officially set on January 1, 2024. Taxi tariffs in China are officially set by cities or districts. It is binding for all taxis and taxi companies within the compulsory driving area and may not be exceeded or undercut. This is ensured by officially calibrated taximeters installed in the taxis.

How the fare is made up under the Wuhan taxi rate:

The taxi tariff in Wuhan is charged based on both the distance traveled and the waiting time during your journey. Every ride begins with a base fare of 10.00 ¥. This base fare covers the first 3.00 km of your trip.

After the first 3.00 km, there is an additional charge of 1.80 ¥ for each further kilometer. This means that if your trip goes beyond the initial 3.00 km, you will only start paying the per-kilometer rate for the distance after that point.

If your taxi needs to wait, for example in traffic or at your request, there is a waiting time fee of 30.00 ¥ for each hour the taxi is not moving or moving very slowly. This ensures that time spent waiting is also accounted for in the total fare.

The Wuhan taxi tariff is designed to be clear and easy to understand, helping passengers know what to expect before starting their trip. All prices are listed in CNY (¥), and you will pay the final fare amount at the end of your ride based on the distance traveled and any waiting time incurred.
