The Tenerife taxi rate was officially set on January 1, 2019. Taxi tariffs in Spain are officially set by cities or districts. The taxi tariff Tenerife was last set in January 2019 and published in the official tariff ordinance. It is binding for all taxis and taxi companies within the compulsory driving area and may not be exceeded or undercut. This is ensured by officially calibrated taximeters installed in the taxis.

How the fare is made up under the Tenerife taxi rate:

The taxi tariff of Teneriffa sets clear and simple rules for how taxi fares are calculated. Whether you ride during the day or night, the process is the same. When you start your journey, there is a base fare of €3.15. This amount appears on the meter as soon as you get into the taxi.

After the base fare, your total fare increases based on the distance you travel. For every kilometer you go further, an additional €1.10 is added to the fare. This rate per kilometer applies throughout your journey, without changes for different distances.

If you need the taxi to wait, such as when you make a stop during your trip, there is a waiting time charge. The cost for waiting is €15.05 per hour. This charge is calculated if the taxi is stopped or moving very slowly, and is added on top of the base fare and distance fare.

This tariff is valid from Monday to Saturday, between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm for daytime rides. For nighttime rides, the same fares apply from Monday to Saturday between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, as well as all day on Sunday. All these rates are set clearly to ensure passengers understand how the total fare is calculated on Teneriffa.
