1. The Salzland district Taxi Rate Explained Simply

Officially Set

The Salzland district taxi rate was officially set on June 1, 2022. In Germany, cab fares are set officially by cities or districts and published in the official tariff ordinance. Unless otherwise regulated, it is binding for all cabs and cab companies within the compulsory travel area and may not be exceeded or undercut. This is ensured by officially calibrated taximeters installed in the cabs.

How the fare is made up under the Salzland district taxi rate:

The taxi tariff of Salzlandkreis sets out how taxi rides are charged. There are different prices for day and night times. The day tariff is valid from Monday to Saturday, between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm. During this period, every taxi ride starts with a base fare of €4.00. For the first 2 kilometers, the price is €3.50 per kilometer. For each additional kilometer after the first 2, the price is €2.20 per kilometer. If the taxi has to wait, there is a charge of €30.00 for every hour of waiting time.

The night tariff applies from Monday to Saturday, between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, and all day on Sundays. In this period, the base fare for starting a ride is €5.50. The cost per kilometer remains the same, with €3.50 per kilometer for the first 2 kilometers and €2.20 for every further kilometer. The waiting time is also charged at €30.00 per hour.

To understand your total fare, first note the base fare. Then, add the fare for the distance you travel: calculate €3.50 per kilometer for the first 2 kilometers and €2.20 per kilometer for each additional kilometer. If the taxi waits for you during the ride, the waiting time is added at the rate of €30.00 per hour. The total fare is the sum of the base fare, the distance driven, and any waiting time. This makes the pricing clear and easy to follow for all passengers using the Salzlandkreis taxi tariff.
