The Prague taxi rate was officially set on February 1, 2020. Taxi tariffs in the Czech Republic are officially set by cities or districts. The taxi tariff Prague was last set in February 2020 and published in the official tariff ordinance. It is binding for all taxis and taxi companies within the compulsory driving area and may not be exceeded or undercut. This is ensured by officially calibrated taximeters installed in the taxis.

How the fare is made up under the Prague taxi rate:

The taxi tariff of Prag is designed to calculate the cost of your taxi ride in a clear and transparent way. Every journey begins with a base fare. In Prag, the base fare is 60.00 Kč. This is the starting amount you pay when you enter the taxi and the ride begins.

After the base fare, the cost of the journey is determined by the distance you travel. For every kilometre you travel, there is a charge of 36.00 Kč per kilometre. This rate applies to all distances covered during your ride, regardless of how far you travel.

If your taxi has to wait in traffic or is stationary at your request, a waiting time fee is charged. In Prag, the waiting time fee is 360.00 Kč for each hour the taxi is waiting. This ensures that the time spent waiting is also fairly compensated.

To summarise, your final fare will include the base fare of 60.00 Kč, plus 36.00 Kč for every kilometre travelled, and any applicable waiting time at 360.00 Kč per hour. The taxi tariff of Prag ensures that passengers understand how their ride is priced at each step.
