The Da Nang taxi rate was officially set on January 1, 2024. Starting January 1, 2025, passengers in Vietnam will be able to negotiate taxi fares directly with drivers. This change is part of Decree No. 158/2024/ND-CP, which regulates road transportation and sets specific guidelines for taxis. Regardless of the agreed fare, companies are required to issue electronic invoices at the end of each trip and submit them to tax authorities. Additionally, taxis must display either a "TAXI" rooftop sign or reflective stickers with the same label on their front and rear windshields. These measures aim to allow more flexible pricing while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

How the fare is made up under the Da Nang taxi rate:

The Da Nang taxi tariff has a simple structure for calculating fares. At the start of your trip, a base fare of 22500.00 VND is charged as soon as you enter the taxi. This amount covers the initial part of your ride.

After the base fare, the cost of your journey increases based on the distance you travel. Every additional kilometer you travel is charged at a rate of 18321.00 VND per kilometer. This rate applies to all distances beyond the initial base fare.

If your taxi is waiting due to traffic or a stop requested by the passenger, there is a waiting charge of 310000.00 VND for each hour the taxi remains stationary. This ensures that the driver is compensated for time spent waiting during your trip.

With the Da Nang taxi tariff, you can clearly understand how your fare is calculated. Passengers are charged a fixed starting fee, plus a uniform distance rate, and an additional fee if the vehicle waits. This clear system helps you estimate the cost of your ride before you begin your journey.
