The Bordeaux taxi rate was officially set on March 1, 2024. Taxi tariffs in France are officially set by cities or districts. The taxi tariff Bordeaux was last set in March 2024 and published in the official tariff ordinance. It is binding for all taxis and taxi companies within the compulsory driving area and may not be exceeded or undercut. This is ensured by officially calibrated taximeters installed in the taxis.

How the fare is made up under the Bordeaux taxi rate:

The taxi tariff of Bordeaux sets out how fares are calculated for journeys in the city. The fare you pay depends on both the time of day and the distance travelled. There are two main tariff periods: day and night. The day tariff is valid from Monday to Saturday, between 6:00 am and 10:00 pm. The night tariff applies from Monday to Saturday between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, and all day on Sundays.

Under both tariff periods, your journey starts with a base fare of €8.00. During the day, this fare covers the first 2.60 km of your trip. For every additional kilometre after the initial 2.60 km, you will be charged €2.08 per kilometre. If your taxi must wait for you or is stopped in traffic, there is also a charge of €41.00 per hour for waiting time.

At night and on Sundays, the base fare of €8.00 includes a shorter distance of 1.73 km. Beyond this, each additional kilometre is charged at €3.12 per kilometre. The waiting time rate remains the same as during the day, at €41.00 per hour.

All charges for taxi rides in Bordeaux are calculated according to these rules. The total fare is made up of the base fare, any additional distance charges, and any applicable waiting time. This structure helps passengers know what to expect and allows them to estimate taxi costs in advance.
