1. The Belgrade Taxi Rate Explained Simply

Officially Set

The Belgrade taxi rate was officially set on January 1, 2024. In Serbia, cab fares are set by the local authorities of the respective cities and municipalities, which can lead to regional differences. The fares are usually made up of a basic fee and a price per kilometer. Official cabs are obliged to display their current fares visibly in the vehicle and to use the taximeter during the journey.

How the fare is made up under the Belgrade taxi rate:

The Belgrad taxi tariff outlines how taxi fares are calculated for passengers. Every taxi ride begins with a base fare of 320.00 Din., which is automatically applied as soon as you enter the taxi. From there, the cost increases based on the distance you travel and, if applicable, the time spent waiting during your ride.

For rides that take place between Monday and Saturday, from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, the day tariff applies. Under this tariff, the price is 105.00 Din. for each additional kilometer traveled. If the taxi is stationary or moving slowly, such as in heavy traffic, a waiting time charge of 1800.00 Din. per hour is added.

For rides between Monday and Saturday from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, and all day on Sunday, the night tariff applies. During these times, the base fare remains the same at 320.00 Din., but the cost per kilometer increases to 135.00 Din. The waiting time charge is also 1800.00 Din. per hour during these periods.

Charges are combined in your final fare, which consists of the base fare, the distance rate, and any waiting time charges that may apply. All prices are listed in RSD (Din.), and the tariff ensures that passengers are charged consistently based on clear criteria set for the city of Belgrad.
